Description
Pątnowskie Lake – The lake has heated water, and its west-to-east circuit and surface make it ideal for practicing windsurfing. There is a windsurfing base, which is used by around 20 "riders." Equipment can be stored at the base, and there are favorable conditions for rigging and preparing the sail. The large beach and flat bottom allow easy entry into the water, providing a safe environment for beginners, as they can have solid ground under their feet during their first lessons. The "Portofino" center and the Sailing Club at the KWB "Konin" marina are equipped with toilets, parking, and accommodation facilities.
Ślesińskie and Wąsosko-Mikorzyńskie Lakes – These lakes are of glacial origin and have a gutter-like shape, with a significant extension from south to north and a well-developed shoreline. Despite their rich tourist infrastructure, they are not suitable for windsurfing due to their narrow layout, high trees along the shoreline, and rapidly dropping bottom, which can be hazardous for surfers.
Gosławskie Lake – The largest lake in the Konin district (approximately 284 hectares), Gosławskie Lake follows a west-to-east orientation. The prevailing northern and western winds, which often blow strongly, make this lake a popular meeting spot for windsurfers from the Konin Windsurfing Association "Windclub." Although the lake lacks hangars, accommodation, and catering facilities, this does not deter windsurfers. The heated water of the lake is an advantage, attracting riders from other regions, including Kalisz, Pleszew, Łódź, and Gniezno. The best entry point for windsurfing is in Konin-Gosławice, located in the southeastern part of the lake. Access to the windsurfing beach is behind the cemetery, near the castle, which houses the District Museum in Konin.
Gopło Lake – A glacial origin gutter lake, Gopło has a meridional course and a forked southern end. Its low, varied coastline, with numerous bays and peninsulas, makes it ideal for windsurfing, especially when the wind blows from the north or south. The most popular entry points for windsurfing are in Mielnica and Łuszczewo (in the Skulsk community), located in the widest areas of the lake. Gopło lies within a nature reserve, ensuring a quiet zone away from the noise of motorboats and personal watercraft, making it an excellent location for windsurfing.
Skulskie Lake – Another gutter lake of glacial origin, Skulskie Lake has low, non-wooded shores and offers good conditions for windsurfing. However, it lacks adequate facilities for windsurfers. Due to the greater popularity of the nearby Gopło Lake, many windsurfers tend to prefer that location.
Retention Reservoir in Powie, Old City – This 91-hectare reservoir has a variable water level controlled by a dam. It is located in an area exposed to south-western and southern winds. Flat-water enthusiasts will find it appealing, although the waves are very small and short (even in strong winds), making it ideal for freeriders and freestylers.
