Bronikowski Palace in Żychlin
The Classicist Bronikowski Palace was built around 1820 on a rectangular plan. Together with the farm buildings, it once served as both a church and a manor house. A key feature of the estate was the now non-existent linden alley, which once led from the manor gate toward the tomb-mausoleum. The palace is surrounded by a 2.5-hectare park with winding alleys and stately, old trees, including ash, linden, and even plane trees.
In early September 1829, Fryderyk Chopin attended the wedding of Melania Bronikowska, the daughter of the estate's owner. This event is commemorated by a plaque placed at the entrance to the palace, as well as by a monument of the 19-year-old composer, unveiled in Żychlin on September 3, 2010, during the regional celebrations of the 200th anniversary of Chopin's birth. The monument, the first of its kind in Poland depicting young Chopin, was created by Marcin Mielcarek, a sculptor from Łódź. Today, the palace houses the Economic and Service School Complex.
