The Licheń Sanctuary is the second most visited religious center in Poland, after Jasna Góra, in terms of the number of pilgrims. It gained fame thanks to the following:

• The Miraculous Image of Our Lady of Licheń, renowned for granting graces for nearly 200 years;
• The site of apparitions in the nearby Grąbliński Forest;
• A spring that flows with water considered by pilgrims to be miraculous;
• Golgotha — a 25-meter stone mountain with the Way of the Cross, built by pilgrims;
• "Maria Bogurodzica" — the largest bell in Poland, weighing 14.7 tons, and the largest organ in Poland, which provides the musical setting for the celebrations held in the Basilica;
• The Basilica, which serves as a votive offering from the Polish nation for the third millennium of Christianity.
