The natural environment

The area occupied by the Konin County is part of the lowland belt within the Wielkopolska Lowlands. Its sculpture is the result of the activity of the waters of the Warta basin. A characteristic element is the latitudinal system of geological forms.

In the central part of the region, there is a wide Warta valley, which is a small fragment of the Warsaw-Berlin ice-marginal valley. To the north and south of it, there are various areas of uplands (80-190 m above sea level). The northern part is additionally diversified by 23 glacial lakes, 11 of which have an area of over 50 ha.
