The area occupied by the Konin County is a part of the lowland belt within the Wielkopolska Lowlands. Its terrain is a result of the activity of the Warta basin's waters. A characteristic element of this terrain is the parallel system of the landforms.
 
In the central part of the region, there is the wide valley of Warta, which is a small fragment of the Warsaw-Berlin ice-marginal valley. North and south of the Warta valley, we can find various areas of uplands (located 80-190 m above sea level). The northern part is additionally diversified by 23 glacial lakes, 11 of which have an area of over 50 ha.
