Archaeological open-air museum in Mrówki near Wilczyn
According to local tradition, the conical mound was built in honor of Napoleon by his soldiers. Others believed it to be a remnant from the Swedish Deluge. However, archaeological excavations conducted in the early 1970s revealed that the site dates back to the Middle Ages. It is a ring-shaped settlement, constructed at the end of the 12th century. Its exact purpose remains unclear, but it was most likely a watchtower located near the border between Greater Poland and Kuyavia. Inside the structure, remains of walls, hearths, and everyday objects have been discovered.
