The Amber Bicycle Trail is another of the cycling routes in the Greater Poland Bicycle Trail System (Wielkopolski System Szlaków Rowerowych - WSSR) that passes through the Konin district. The Greater Poland section spans 200 km and runs from south to north through the eastern part of the Greater Poland region. The trail begins in Syców and leads northeast through the Ostrzeszów Hills, Kobyla Góra, Ostrzeszów, Mikstat, Ołobok, Kalisz, Russów, Stare Miasto, Konin, Ślesin, and continues along the Ślesin lakes to Przewóz. This trail follows the route of the ancient Amber Road, a trade route that connected the Adriatic Sea with the Baltic Sea (Pula – Gdańsk) during the Roman Empire, used by merchant caravans searching for the highly prized amber. The Amber Bicycle Trail runs through areas rich in tourist, natural, and scenic attractions.
