Drewniany Kościół św. Jakuba Apostoła w GolinieUrban-rural commune, located in the central-western part of the Konin County, at the edges of Kujawy Lakes complex. The total area of 99 square kilometers is inhabited by 11.8 thousand people, including 4.5 thousand residents of Golina town. The county consists of 18 villages and 3 settlements. Important Warsaw-Poznań roads and railway tracks run through the commune's territory, including the entrance ramp for the A-2 freeway.

Golina first became known in the 14th century. It got its municipal rights in 1362 under privilege for Stanisław Kiwała from Ostrów given by Kazimierz Wielki. It used to be a privately owned town, the residence of Golińskis’ family and Żychlińskis’ family. Before the partitions, it was within the Kalisz Voivodeship. In 1793, the commune became a part of Prussia. Between 1807 and 1815, it was joined to the Grand Duchy of Warsaw and after 1815, it was in the Congress Polish Kingdom. Golina lost the municipal rights in 1870 to regain them in 1921.

Radolina village, located within the commune limits, is a place where Piotr Wysz was born. Wysz was a Krakow Bishop and the first chancellor after the Krakow University had been renovated in 1400. Mikołaj, who created the university's charters and worked as a professor and chancellor, was born in Sługocin. Bazyli Goliniusz, also known as Fabrycius, also had a place in the history of the university as a professor and chancellor.

In Przyjma place, there have remained the ruins of the former residence of Przyjemskis’ family (under Rawicz coat of arms), which had been founded at the turn of the 15th and 16th centuries and was ruined during the Polish-Swedish war period in the years 1655-60. Przyjemskis’ family, which, from the end of the 16th century up to the beginning of the 18th century belonged to the Polish political elite, has marked its presence in Wielkopolska history with numerous established foundations. Thanks to this family, numerous stone monasteries in Kobylin, Koźmin, and Rawicz were built. Przyjemskis' family members were the founders of many places, including Rawicz. They owned over 100 villages and a few dozens of towns. They reached the highest honors in the Polish state, therein honors of Marshal of the Polish Kingdom. They were well known in diplomacy and bravely sacrificed themselves on battlefields
